Meet Me!

I’m Nina Amaguaña Cachiguango, a queer Kichwa Otavaleña graphic designer, beader, and artist based in Madison, Wisconsin. I’m a graphic design student at Madison College and help run my family’s shop, Spinning Handiworks, where our handmade work, music, and culture are shared across generations.

Growing up queer in the best of two worlds—rooted in Indigenous tradition while navigating life in the diaspora—has shaped how I design and create. Raised in a family of Mindalaes, Indigenous traveling artisans and musicians, I learned early on that art and design are more than just visuals; they’re ways of carrying memory, identity, and community forward.

Through jewelry, digital art, and design, I explore stories of migration, memory, and belonging. My work is handmade with intention, shaped by healing, connection, and the idea of carrying warmth and home wherever you go—little by little, home moves with us.
